During the week of November 17th – 21st, TCAPS’ Montessori students, staff, and families worked together to gather canned food and non-perishable food items for their first annual Turkey Trot. Students who brought in at least one food item had their name put in a drawing during the week, for a chance to win a turkey, donated by Oleson’s Food Store, 1100 Hammond Road East student donors were able to lead their physical education class in a rousing rendition of the classic Chicken Dance while turkey trotting around the gymnasium.
All food items were transported to Trinity Lutheran Elementary by TCAPS’ Montessori Brownie and Daisy troops and then donated to their Community Meal Food Pantry. Food donated was estimated to be at least three full shopping carts worth of goods.
