Students from the Traverse City High School Student Success class have volunteered at the Father Fred food pantry November 5th, 12th, and 19th. Students helped stock food in the food pantry, sort and hang clothes, move pallets, and shared their lunch with other volunteers.
“We are doing this project so we can help our community,” said Julia Archibald, Traverse City High School student. “We’ve seen first hand how much the Father Fred Foundation has in their food pantry and how much it helps those in need.”
After visiting the Father Fred food pantry, the Student Success class is excited to begin helping to improve the Traverse City High School food pantry. “Our school’s food pantry is small, but it still helps our students in need.” Commented Traverse City High School student Braden Brown.
The Traverse City High School food pantry will help ensure each student has the food and daily products they need everyday for themselves and their child. Donations are being accepted. Items needed include:
- Canned goods
- Non-perishable foods
- Baby food/products
- Personal items
- Paper products
Donations can be dropped off at the Traverse City High School Main Office, 3962 Three Mile Road North. Please call Jodi Murphy at 933-5873 for more information.
