Traverse City East Junior High School seventh grade students had the opportunity to learn more about animals found in Africa and hear stories about the African safaris of Mr. and Mrs. Marty Cotanche. The living geography and culture lesson captured the students’ attention as more than 350 students visited the Cotanche’s animal displays through field trip experience.
Mr. Cotanche shared stories about the numerous trips he and his wife have taken to Tanzania, Zambia, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Ethiopia, Central Africa Republic, and South Africa. In his tales, Mr. Cotanche gave the students a taste of the life, culture, economy, politics, and history of the regions.
