On Friday, June 6, 2008 Glenn Loomis Elementary School will host a Blue Crew Farewell Bash from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the school gymnasium and cafeteria.
This free family event celebrates the health and well-being of every child. Fun, physical activities are planned, including a bounce house, slide, obstacle course, climbing wall, DanceDance Revolution, and more. Healthy food and drinks will also be available at no charge.
All current and former staff, students, and families, as well as community members are invited to attend the celebration. This event is sponsored by the Glenn Loomis Elementary School PTO and the PE-Nut grant.
“PE-Nut” is a nutrition education grant implemented in low-income schools funded from the USDA’s Food Stamp Program, through Michigan State University Extension and coordinated by the Michigan Fitness Foundation. Partnerships include Traverse City Area Public Schools, Genesee Intermediate School District, Tuscola Intermediate School District, and Livingston Educational Service Agency. Pe-Nut provides nutrition education and physical activity promotion, training, and resources to the physical education teacher and six classroom teachers in 49 elementary schools.
