Traverse City High School students will have help in getting ready for their prom this year. On Saturday, May 24, 2008 students will be able to take part in prom preparations at Traverse City High School from 4:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
Prom is a momentous time is a high school student’s life. For many students, however, the costs associated with going to the prom can prohibit their participation (tickets, transportation, dinner, flowers, clothing, photography, hair and makeup, etc.). Traverse City High School staff in partnership with local businesses and community members will be providing services, meals, transportation at little or not cost to students in the hopes that more students will be able to participate in the prom experience.
The following goods and services will be available to students:

Hair, Nails, & Makeup: Provided through the support of Super Cuts and Jennifer Young at no cost to students.

Transportation: Celtic Transportation will provide free transportation to students from Traverse City High School to the Grand Traverse Resort & Spa.

Flowers: Provided by Northern Woods Floral & Décor at a minimal cost.

Prom Pictures: Desell Photography is offering outdoor prom pictures at no cost to students
- Dinner: Traverse City High School staff will serve dinner to prom participants at the “TCHS Bistro” located in the school cafeteria. TC East Junior High School Catering is provided the meal. Dessert and decorations will be provided by the Traverse City High School Student Council and Youth Corps.

Prom Dresses: Students were able to participate in a dress swap held earlier in May to purchase prom dresses at a reduced price.
