Lindsay Annelin, fourth grade teacher at Norris Elementary School, has been selected as the local Outstanding Young Educator by the Grand Traverse Area Jaycees.
Lindsay is a positive, dedicated, and caring educator who demonstrates great passion for her students and their successes,” comments Norris Elementary School Principal Lisa Craker. “Her generous, compassionate personality endears her to her students, their families, and her
co-workers alike. Lindsay is an invaluable asset to this community.”
“ As a third year teacher, Lindsay has distinguished herself in her short tenure as an innovative teacher, life-long professional learner, and leader within her school and district,” comments Jim Linsell, TCAPS’ New Teacher/Mentor Program Coordinator.
Each year, the local Jaycees recognize individuals for distinguished service in the following categories: young religious leader, young educator, and young public safety officer. Local winners from throughout Michigan, including Ms. Annelin, will have the opportunity to be selected by the Michigan Jaycees as a State Finalist in their category. State Finalists will be notified in June and will be recognized at the Michigan Jaycees Awards Banquet on August 2, 2008 in Troy, Michigan.
