Traverse City Area Public Schools is looking for five to ten people from the community to fill
“at large” positions on the District’s Long Range Master Plan Steering Committee. These people will join ninety or so others already identified. The responsibilities of individuals agreeing to serve on the committee include:
- To attend two to four hours of meetings per month throughout the school year. Most meetings will be held on Monday evenings beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the Traverse City Central High School cafeteria.
- To become knowledgeable about educational and facility issues confronting the school system at this time and to work constructively to create alternatives to address these issues.
- To help facilitate three public forums scheduled to occur in the months of November, January, and March.
- To gather information from the public and provide input to the planning process related to the various questions before the District.
Community members who are interested in serving on TCAPS’ Long Range Master Plan Steering Committee are invited to apply via the District website.Applications are also available at TCAPS’ Administration Building, located at 412 Webster Street. Selection of individuals to serve on the committee will be determined by August 18, 2006. Applicants will then be notified.
