Today, April 21, 2008 at Cherry Knoll Elementary School and Traverse City East Junior High School telephone and internet service was disrupted. The outage was due to a construction company working for the Land Conservation District at Cass Road and Sabin Dam that severed TCAPS’ underground fiber optic cable with a bulldozer. TCAPS has dispatched its fiber optic contractor and they are continuing to work on repairing the fiber optic cable as quickly as feasibly possible. Cherry Knoll Elementary School and Traverse City East Junior High School are the only facilities affected by this incident and may be without telephone and internet service for the remainder of the day.
