Cherry Knoll Elementary School’s annual Turkey Trot will be held on November 16, 2007 at 2:45 p.m. on the school playground and gymnasium. The purpose of the Turkey Trot is to collect canned goods to be donated to a different food pantry each year.
Students bring canned goods in to school from November 1st through November 16th. Students, staff, and families will gather on the lower elementary playground for the Turkey Trot on November 16th, weather permitting, and jog around the perimeter for 15 minutes after which everyone will proceed to the gymnasium for a grand total count of canned goods donated, a drawing led by the student council, and the chicken (turkey) dance. All canned goods will then be delivered to a local food pantry.
