Friends of TC Tennis are hosting their 5th annual “Friends Fundraiser Tournament” on Saturday, May 26th. This is an exciting and fun-filled doubles tournament for the entire family. Funds raised go towards Tennis Court Projects in Traverse City.
This Friends of TC Tennis event features 4 levels of round robin play, food, contests, prizes and t-shirts for all participants. There is something for everyone! The schedule for the day begins with a 9:15 a.m. check-in. Round robin doubles play begins at 10:00 a.m. A raffle will be held with winners announced during the awards ceremony.
Divisions include: Adult 7.0, Adult 8.0, Junior, and Adult/Junior. A team entry fee is $90. Also available is Corporate Sponsorship for $500, Court Sponsorship for $200, and Community Friend Sponsorship for $100.
The Friends group was formed in 2000 with a sweeping vision for a Tennis Center at Traverse City Central High School. This vision included ten new courts, a walkway, a pavilion featuring a covered viewing area, restrooms, concession, and a storage area and team room. Specific TCAPS projects that will benefit from this year’s fundraising efforts include plans for a much needed tennis shelter/storage building at Traverse City East Junior High School.
Through the generosity of foundations, business and private contributions, and in-kind donations, more than $375,000 has been raised.
