Former Traverse City Central High School Principal Mike Murray has received the Michigan Interscholastic Press Association’s (MIPA) 2007 Administrator of the Year Award. Traverse City Central High School’s Black & Gold Newspaper students and adviser, Missi Yoemans, nominated Murray for the award. Murray’s support of student press rights, helping students get equipment, making himself available to student journalists, and helping to get all seniors featured in high school yearbooks are what earned him this award.
