On Thursday, May 15, 2007 Terry Wooten, poet and bard from Stone Circle, will be at Glenn Loomis Elementary School to present and hold poetry workshops in the school library beginning at 9:00 a.m. Wooten will be working with students in grades K – 4.
Wooten last came to Glenn Loomis Elementary School in April as part of the school’s “Poetry Café,” where students were able to recite poetry written by themselves or poetry that they enjoy. The Poetry Café was established to expose students to the joy of poetry. As part of the Poetry Café special visitors have been able to spend time with the students to enhance the poetry experience and assist students in the creative writing process.
The “Poetry Café” and workshops have been made possible by grant funding received from TBA Credit Union and MEEMIC Insurance/Harvitt Agency.
