Traverse City Area Public Schools, with nearly 1,500 employees, is one of seven school districts in the country to be recognized with General ASP’s 2010 AppliTrack Award, for its innovative ways in streamlining the hiring process and supporting TCAPS’ mission and goals in an exemplary manner.
School districts are evaluated on the problems that the implementation of AppliTrack, an online hiring system, was able to address, the efficiencies that have resulted from the implementation of AppliTrack, the customizations to the “out-of-the-box” system that have been created by the district, the impact that AppliTrack has had on the school district’s constituent stakeholders, and how AppliTrack supports the school district’s commitment to education in their community.
“We are not exaggerating when we state that AppliTrack has revolutionized the manner in which we deliver services as a Human Resources Department. Implementing the AppliTrack system has encouraged the staff to look at other manual processes and how technology can be used to increase efficiencies and save resources. This has been critical as a school district, as resources saved can then be reallocated to benefit the students and community we serve,” said Cindy Berck, TCAPS’ Director of Human Resources.
Winning school districts will receive a $500 grant to be applied towards their AppliTrack service, a plaque for display, and the opportunity to showcase their district to other AppliTrack users during General ASP’s new monthly “HR Best Practices” webinar series.
