On Thursday, July 8th, students from the Traverse City Area Pubic Schools SCI-MA-TECH program will sell rubber ducks throughout the day to individuals that would like to take part in the National Cherry Festival Annual Boardman River Duck Race. The duck race will launch at 4:00 p.m. at the Hannah Lay Park at the Union Street Bridge, and finish at the Traverse City Chamber of Commerce at the Cass Street Bridge.
The Traverse City Optimist Club sponsors the Duck Race and several area businesses have contributed prizes for the first 30 winners.
The cost for a duck is $5.00 each or $25.00 for a “six-quack.”
