The TCAPS Board of Education voted this evening to extend an offer to finalist candidate Stephen E. Cousins for the Superintendent opening beginning in the
2010-2011 school year.
Mr. Cousins currently serves as Superintendent for Reeths-Puffer School District in Muskegon, Michigan. In the coming days, TCAPS Board representatives will be in contact with Mr. Cousins to finalize his official acceptance of the offer and terms of the employment agreement.
The Board of Education made its decision after engaging in a comprehensive search process coordinated by the Michigan Leadership Institute. The three-month long process included a national search, an extensive review of over twenty applications for the position, initial interviews with five candidates, second interviews with two finalists who participated in a full-day visit with TCAPS and community groups, and culminated with site visits conducted by Board members to each finalist’s home district on May 31st and June 1st.
