On Sunday, June 6th, Traverse City Central High School Yearbook staff will hold a community car wash fundraiser. The fundraiser will help student staff members offset their cost to attend Herff Jones Yearbook FUN d’Mentals Summer Workshop, June 28th through July 1st, at Michigan State University in Lansing. Student participants are responsible for their individual cost for the experience. The community car wash will be held from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. at Oak Park Elementary School, 301 South Garfield Avenue.
Students will participate in Editorial, Desktop Publishing, and Digital Photo Journalism workshops. The Herff Jones Yearbook workshops draws hundreds of students from all over Michigan, Ohio and Indiana, as well as from Illinois and New York. The curriculum is challenging, yet presented in a fun and interactive manner. Students return to school with a completed yearbook project incorporating designs for their cover, endsheet, theme pages, and section dividers, as well as a developed ladder and marketing plan.
Donations will be accepted for car wash services. All proceeds will benefit students attending the Herff Jones Yearbook Summer Workshop.
