On Friday, June 4th, TCAPS’ Montessori at Glenn Loomis will learn about acclaimed author E. William Oldenburg. Mr. Oldenburg’s son and daughter will visit TCAPS’ Montessori to speak to students in Ms. Hancock’s class who have been reading Mr. Oldenburg’s book, Potawatomi Indian Summer as part of their Michigan History studies. Ryan Oldenburg and Jennifer Oldenburg-Chapin are featured in their father’s book and will speak to students about the book, their father, and the inspiration for his story. Mr. Oldenburg was from Grand Haven, Michigan and passed away before his book was published therefore very few copies of his book were ever produced. Ms. Hancock, with financial support from the PTO, was able to work with Ryan Oldenburg to purchase enough books for her class. The event will begin at 1:00 p.m. in Ms. Hancock’s classroom, 1009 Oak Street.
