The TCAPS Board of Education has directed the Michigan Leadership Institute to post a Superintendent Position Announcement, which describes selection criteria, salary and contract information, and application procedures and timelines for the superintendent search process. (See attached announcement.)
Superintendent Search Timeline:
April 23, 2010 – Application deadline
Week of April 26, 2010 – Candidate screening
April 29, May 5 and May 6, 2010 – First interviews
May 11 and May 12, 2010 – Second interviews
May 17 and May 18, 2010 – Site visitations
May 18, 2010 – Selection of Superintendent
July 1, 2010 – Start date
TCAPS’ Web site also includes a copy of the announcement as well as a letter to parents, staff, and the community from Board President, Marjorie Rich that indicates that the Board’s goal is to recruit and hire a new superintendent leader who will begin on July 1, 2010. Ms. Rich emphasized that the school board recognizes the importance of finding the highest quality person for the position and is prepared to commit the necessary time and energy to find the right individual to lead the District. The Michigan Leadership Institute will conduct the application process and screening of all applications.
