On Saturday, April 10th, students and staff from TCAPS’ middle school and high school music ensembles will host a LIVE Student-produced Telethon Fundraiser on TCAPS’ TV Charter Cable Channel 98. The Telethon will broadcast LIVE from Noon until 9:00 p.m.

The Telethon will showcase student musical performances and seek donations from viewers to raise funds, which will support essential needs (from sheet music to instrument repairs). Additionally, our programs are seeking funding support to help our student ensembles raise needed resources to participate in extended learning and world-class performance opportunities that include:

·          TC Central High School Chorale students will work with world-renowned
composer John Rutter to perform Mozart’s Requiem at Carnegie Hall in
New York City (May 2010)
·          TC West Senior High School Band will travel to Hawaii to visit the historical
site of Pearl Harbor and play in a tribute music performance to the Gateway of
the Pacific Theatre (Spring 2011)

TCAPS’ students and music directors are deeply grateful for the community’s support over the years making it possible for students to participate in once-in-a-lifetime learning opportunities and youth cultural exchanges. TCAPS’ music programs are highly recognized as world-class; and each year numerous students earn college scholarships based on their participation in educational and extra-curricular offerings.

All donations are tax deductible and are greatly appreciated, as it will help TCAPS’ music programs to continue to provide amazing opportunities for our learners. TCAPS invites the community to view the Telethon on Channel 98 and call (231) 933-1685 to pledge your support.

For more information or questions, please contact TCAPS’ Communications Department at (231) 933-1783.
