On Friday, March 19th, students from Traverse Heights Elementary School will be recognized for their outstanding efforts throughout the second trimester. Traverse Heights Elementary School families and community members are invited to attend this special event that will be scheduled from 3:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. in the Traverse Heights Elementary School Gymnasium, 933 Rose Street.
The United States Coast Guard will also be present to celebrate the students’ outstanding accomplishments. In October, the United States Coast Guard Air Station Traverse City selected Traverse Heights Elementary School as an "Adopt-A-School" and US Coast Guard volunteers have been working with groups of students as recess buddies to promote physical fitness, cooperation, and respect. In addition, US Coast Guard members participate in school-wide recognition lunches and the Big Brothers/Big Sisters program.
