On Saturday, February 27th, the Traverse City West Senior High School student group, Traverse City Hands for Haiti will host a benefit concert to raise money to support the Shabach International for their Haiti earthquake relief efforts. The benefit concert will be held from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. in the TC West Senior High School Commons Area, 5376 North Long Lake Road. The event will include:
· Guest speaker Marcia Petit-Frere, a woman who was in Haiti at the time of the recent earthquake and whose three children attend TCAPS’ schools
· Local musicians that include Andrew Sturtz and Alex Gusler and the Saving Sara Project
· A silent auction of items donated by local businesses
· Appetizers donated by local businesses
The cost is a $5.00 minimum donation at the door. All proceeds will go to the Shabach International for their Haiti earthquake relief efforts. The goal for the event is to raise funds and to also bring community awareness to the behind-the-scenes issues currently being experienced in Haiti.
