Eastern Elementary School students recently competed in their school spelling bee to qualify for the Grand Traverse County Spelling Bee Competition. Final standings are as follows:

Macy Cook
Abigail Fox
Fielding Schaefer
Aili Simpson
Amanda Sternaman
Mary Twietmeyer
Students will compete in the Grand Traverse County Spelling Bee on Tuesday, February 16th, at 6:00 p.m. in the Grand Traverse Academy Gymnasium, 1245 Hammond Road East. The top six winners of the Grand Traverse County Spelling Bee will compete in the Regional Spelling Bee to be held on Sunday, March 14th, at 1:00 p.m. in the City Opera House, 106 E Front Street. The winner of the Regional Spelling Bee will go to Washington D.C. for the Scripps National Spelling Bee.
