On Tuesday, September 22nd, Traverse City West Senior High School will present Making It Count’s high rated Making High School Count program for its ninth grade students and their parents as part of the school’s Freshmen Mentoring Program. Three sessions will be held at 8:30 a.m., 9:30 a.m., and 10:30 a.m. in the school auditorium.
Making High School Count is designed to help high school freshmen understand the importance of high school and what they need to accomplish to maximize their opportunities upon graduation. The program provides students with important information on how to recognize their potential for future success and how to make the most of their high school experience as well as addressing transitional issues such as time management and study skills.
“Entry into high school and college are key transition periods in a student’s academic career,” said JR Cifani, Vice President and General Manager of Making It Count. “Our goal is to provide and reinforce the positive messages counselors and teachers are giving their students during these crucial times as well as help students understand that they can be successful if they choose to be.”
Both TC West Senior High School and TC Central High School offer a Freshmen Mentoring Program for ninth grade students. The program is designed to ease the transition for students during their first year of high school and to also provide tools for academic success.
Making It Count is an educational Service Provider for students and parents and a business unit of Monster Worldwide, Inc. More information about the Making It Count in-school presentation programs can be found at www.makingitcount.com.
Please contact TC West Senior High School at 933-7500 for more information.
