TC Central High School Choir Director, Wendee Wolf-Schlarf and TC West Senior High School Choir Director, Russ Larimer have been nominated by District 2 members of the Michigan School Vocal Music Association (MSVMA) to be considered as candidates for the 2009-2010 MSVMA Honors. Ms. Wolf-Schlarf has been nominated in the category of High School Honors Choir Director. Mr. Larimer has been nominated in the categories of Teacher of the Year, as well as High School Honors Choir Director.
“To be recognized by one’s peers in such a way is truly an honor, in addition to being evidence of the high respect with which these individuals are held as choral leaders and conductors in our state,” noted James Borst, Past President of Michigan School Vocal Music Association.
The Michigan School Vocal Music Association (MSVMA), founded in 1937, is a non-profit professional organization of vocal music educators whose purposes are improving, promoting, and assisting vocal music education in the middle, junior high, and senior high schools of the state through a program of clinics, festivals, workshops, contests, and conferences regulated by legitimate and effective means. MSVMA activities shall be available to all secondary students in Michigan without regard to race, color, creed, national origin, or sex.
