On Wednesday, June 10th, Cherry Knoll Elementary School will announce its charter membership with the National Elementary Honor Society (NEHS) during the Academic Achievement Awards Ceremony to be held at 10:00 a.m. in the Sabin Campus Gymnasium, 2075 Cass Road. Beginning in the 2009-2010 school year, select fourth and fifth grade students will have the opportunity to be inducted into the NEHS.
The National Elementary Honor Society is school-based program recognizing outstanding elementary students and engaging them in the meaningful development of leadership skills and a personal understanding of the value of service. More than just an honor roll, NEHS gives each member school a means of identifying high-achieving students who have an understanding of what it means to be a responsible student and citizen in our world today.
“NEHS can involve the whole school in promoting scholarship, responsibility, leadership, and service,” stated Cherry Knoll Elementary School Principal Linda Barker. “It will be an honor to institute this program in the newly renovated Cherry Knoll Elementary School building this fall.”
