The Traverse City Area Public Schools regular school election will be held on November 4, 2008. One four-year term School Board Member position will be up for election. The deadline to file nominating petitions to appear as a candidate on the November ballot is Tuesday, August 12, 2008 by 4:00 p.m.
To be eligible, a candidate must be a registered voter in the Traverse City Area Public Schools District. A candidate must be at least 18 years of age; a citizen of the United States; a resident of the State of Michigan for at least 30 days; and a resident of the school district on or before the 30th day prior to the date of the election. Property ownership is not a requirement for candidacy.
Gerald Morris, Board Trustee, currently holds the expiring term.
