Award winning author and historian, Janie Lynn Panagopoulos will be in Traverse City from May 12 – 21, 2008. Ms. Panagopoulos will be visiting several TCAPS schools to share historical information gleaned while writing her books as well as tips on the writing process.

Ms. Panagopoulos has worked in the field of historical research, interpretation, and writing for thirty-two years. She has written a number of historical fiction novels for young people. Her books help readers of all ages understand what it would be like to live in a different period of time. Many of her books are used in classrooms as teaching tools for Michigan history. Ms. Panagopoulos has won several Readers Choice Awards and was the recipient of the 2000 Michigan Author Award. She lives in Roscoe, Illinois but previously resided in Boyne Falls, Michigan.
In most cases, Ms. Panagopoulos will be spending an entire school day at each school, however for more specific presentation times, please contact the schools directly.
