On Thursday, May 1, 2008, students, parents, and staff from Central Grade School will say goodbye to old man winter and welcome in spring by dancing around the maypole, located on the Seventh Street side of Central Grade School. Times are scheduled throughout the day allowing each classroom to participate.
Saying goodbye to old man winter and welcoming in the spring by dancing around the maypole has been a tradition at Central Grade School for the past seven years. “It’s amazing to see the patterns that the kids create with the ribbons,” comments Music Teacher, Margaret Pierson.
After the students are done dancing around the maypole, they will talk about the shapes they created and discuss how working together helps them create amazing things. The students will also share what spring means to them.
Please contact Margaret Pierson at 933-8591 for further information.
Note: When schools are in session, all visitors are required to sign in at the Main Office and receive a “Visitors Pass” upon entering a TCAPS school or event.
