First grade students from Cherry Knoll Elementary School have been studying matter as part of the first grade science curriculum. On Tuesday, April 22, 2008, students will get a real taste of science by making their own ice cream. At 2:00 p.m. students in Mrs. Rice’s class will complete their final study on matter by rotating through stations as they follow the recipe for ice cream and observing that some liquids mix (milk and vanilla), some solids can dissolve in liquid (sugar), and that the state of matter can be changed by an outside force such as cold (ice). The students will finish with a little taste of the ice cream that they created.
Please contact Candace Rice at 933-8946 for further information.
