Eastern Elementary School staff, students, and families worked together to help the community during the winter months by donating 200 pairs of mittens/gloves to the Goodwill Inn. The school community also donated many items for the Father Fred Frost Bite Marathon, which took place February 1-10, 2008. In total, the Father Fred Foundation received 1,184 donations from the community. “With many items being Meijer brand, the total will be much higher because Meijer agreed to match any Meijer brand item that was donated,” says Chris Murray, Physical Education Teacher at Eastern Elementary School.
