On Friday, December 21, 2007 first through sixth grade students at Eastern Elementary School will participate in a Writer’s Showcase from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in various locations throughout the school.

Students in first through fifth grades will present their creative works in small groups facilitated by sixth grade students. After each student shares his/her work, the sixth grade facilitator will then lead the group in a discussion about the writing and what made it a good piece. This activity allows each student to participate as active listeners, critic, and author as well as offers a leadership opportunity for sixth grade students.
