Each year, the Traverse City Meijer store donates thousands of dollars to help purchase toys for the local Toys for Tots program. On Friday, December 7, 2007 students from Silver Lake Elementary School will be paired with local police officers, firefighters, emergency medical technicians, marines, etc. to select the Meijer toys that will be distributed by Toys for Tots. The event will take place at the Traverse City Meijer store from 7:45 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
