The Traverse City Central High School Music Department is proud to present the Northern Michigan premier of Disney High School Musical. Based on the wildly popular Disney “telefilm,” the story follows two high school juniors from rival cliques as they try to land lead roles in the school musical. Troy Bolton, captain of the basketball team, partners with Gabriella Montez, a shy transfer student, as they both try to realize their on-stage dreams, despite intense peer pressure. This high-energy, inspirational musical is one of Disney’s most popular and successful movies, attracting 7.7 million viewers for its 2006 premier broadcast on Disney Channel. A feature film of High School Musical is currently in the planning process.

Performances for High School Musical will be November 8, 9, 10, 15, 16, and 17 at 7:30 p.m. in the Traverse City Central High School Auditorium. Matinee performances will be at 3:00 p.m. on November 11 and 18. Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for students and seniors.
