On Tuesday, November 20, 2007, Traverse City West Senior High School will honor current Juniors and Seniors who achieved a 3.5 or above GPA during the 2006-2007 school year at a Fall Academic Awards Ceremony at 9:46 a.m. in the auditorium.  The academic award is determined by the average GPA of the two semesters, not the cumulative GPA that is reflected on report cards and transcripts. 

Students who receive a 3.5 GPA can receive an academic letter the first year, a bronze medal for the second year, a silver medal for the third year, and a gold medal at Honors Convocation in the spring of their senior year.  Thirteen academic letter recipients, 140 Bronze medal recipients, and 100 Silver medal recipients will be recognized at the ceremony. 

Parents, family, and friends are encouraged to attend to congratulate these students on their achievements.  Punch and cookies will be served after the ceremony.
