The TCAPS Board of Education invites community members to attend and participate in their bimonthly Board meetings. The Board appreciates the opportunity to hear from the community and has provided time at each Board meeting for public comment. The dates and times of October and November TCAPS Board of Education meetings, held at the Tompkins Boardman Administration Building, 412 Webster Street, are as follows:

·        Monday, October 8^th                      6:00 p.m.

·        Monday, October 22^nd                   6:00 p.m.

·        Monday, November 12^th                6:00 p.m.

·        Monday, November 26^th                6:00 p.m.

At the October 22^nd meeting, the TCAPS Board of Education will hear Administration’s recommendations for locating the District’s Montessori program as part of the agenda. The Board of Education encourages the public to share their input regarding the relocation of the Montessori program at its October 8^th meeting.  The intent is to encourage public input prior to Board action.

On Monday, November 5^th, TCAPS Channel 98 will air an informational program on the Annual School Election where on November 6^th, Traverse City Area Public Schools will ask voters to maintain 3.1 mills already in place to fund continuing capital improvement needs for:

·        Renovation and upgrades for elementary and secondary school facilities

·        Maintaining and improving technology access for all students

·        Replacement of buses

·        Replacement of visual and performing arts operational equipment

·        Maintaining and improving physical education facilities and school sites

·        Allowing "operational" funds to be directed toward the classroom

Additionally, Traverse City Area Public Schools has installed new equipment to better enable regular filming and live broadcasting of all TCAPS Board of Education meetings. All Board meetings will air live on TCAPS Channel 98 at 6:00 p.m. on the day of the scheduled meeting and will rebroadcast on the following Monday (when the Board is not scheduled to meet) at 6:00 p.m.
