On September 26, 2007 Michigan-based composer and musician, Jeff Haas, will hold diversity workshops for third through sixth graders at Glenn Loomis Elementary School. The sixty minute diversity workshops emphasize the use of music to promote awareness and understanding about people from different cultures, races, and identities. The foundation of the workshop is an interactive discussion about original music by Jeff Haas. Mr. Haas’ music is a blend of jazz, ethnic, and classical music tradition. Mr. Haas’ music will serve as a springboard for discussion regarding overcoming barriers that exist between people of different backgrounds.
The workshops will be held in the school cafeteria at the following times:
9:15 a.m. – 10:15 a.m. Grades 5 – 6
10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Grades 3 – 4
