On Friday, August 3, 2007, students participating in Traverse City Area Public Schools’ Willow Hill Summer Adventure Camp will hold a concert performance from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the Willow Hill Elementary School gymnasium.
For the last two weeks, students have been participating in the 12 Trumpets Program, designed by the Archipelago Project. The program was designed to introduce children to instrumental music in an in-depth manner. Students are given daily instruction on the trumpet, musicianship training, and have daily exposure to professional caliber live music. In addition, the students created a simple melody of their own which will be arranged out to be performed by the Archipelago Project.
Archipelago is a non-profit outreach program designed to educate and inspire students through hands-on classes, performances, workshops, and community performances throughout the year. Archipelago emphasizes the importance that music plays in our development in education and in life.
Family and friends are invited to come and enjoy the concert and the students’ achievements. The Archipelago Project will also perform during the concert.
