Eighth grader, Athena Curtiss, from Traverse City West Junior High School is the recipient of a NASA Space Academy scholarship to attend a six-day space camp in Huntsville, Alabama. Athena was selected for her overall academic and extracurricular accomplishments, in addition to receiving excellent recommendations from her teachers and counselor. She is involved in Math Club and Math Counts, in addition to the National Junior Honor Society. Athena is very interested in Science, which happens to be her favorite subject. She has worked on many community projects, and serves as a Junior Ambassador for the National Cherry Festival.
