As ambassadors of traditional Latin folk music, Los Folkloristas’ successes include the release of more than 30 albums worldwide and contributions to musical scores for the award-winning film “El Norte” and recent release of “Mi Familia.”
A gallery of student work will also be showcased with examples of Traverse City Area Public Schools’ student learning in TCAPS’ elementary foreign language programs. Displays will include short stories, artwork, photos, and information about TCAPS’ foreign language programs.
The performance is arranged by Wharton Center for Performing Arts, Michigan State University, and made available to TCAPS’ students and families through funding received from an Arts in Education Model Development and Dissemination Grant Award from the U.S. Department of Education.
