Traverse City Area Public Schools invites the community to view two helpful videos now available on the TCAPS Web site. The videos provide information on the H1N1 virus and what the community can do to help slow the spread of influenza. Descriptions of the videos are as follows:
- Interview with Dr. Michael Collins, Grand Traverse County Health Department Medical Director
Dr. Collins discusses symptoms of H1N1 influenza as well as prevention tips. In the interview, Dr. Collins also answers many commonly asked questions about the H1N1 virus such as: Why close schools? Who can get the vaccine? How long is someone with the illness contagious? Etc.
- “Preventing the Spread of Flu in School,” created by TC West Middle School Eighth Grade Students
Students demonstrate important prevention methods for students and staff to practice in their daily routines to help prevent the spread of influenza in schools. Parents are encouraged to watch the video with their children.
Each video runs between five to seven minutes and can be viewed on the TCAPS Web site at: www.tcaps.net/H1N1.
