On Sunday, June 28th, at 6:30 p.m. New York Times best-seller Elmore Leonard, author of Road Dogs (2009), and his son Peter Leonard, author of Trust Me (2009), will make a rare first-time appearance at the Traverse City Opera House to talk about their books and writing, followed by an audience Q and A.

Elmore Leonard has been entertaining world-wide audiences for nearly 50 years with over 40 novels, many of which have been made into movies, including Get Shorty, Out Of Sight, and Be Cool. The New York Times Book Review has called Elmore Leonard "the greatest crime writer of our time, perhaps ever." Peter Leonard's novels Quiver and Trust Me (with a third novel on the way), have garnered high-praise and rave reviews from the likes of Michael Connelly, George Pelacanos, and Thomas Perry. Carl Hiassen calls Peter Leonard's Trust Me "fast, sly, and full of twists."

Tickets for the event are $10 for adults and $5 for students under 21 years of age. A reception featuring hors d'ouevres (included in the ticket price) and a cash bar will follow the event. The authors' signed books will also be for sale at the Opera House.

All proceeds are donated to a dedicated scholarship fund to benefit college-bound writing and arts students that attend Traverse City Area Public Schools and Grand Traverse Area Catholic Schools.

The evening event is supported and/or sponsored by Parsons Ringsmuth Zelenock, Horizon Books, Michigan Writers, Traverse Area District Library, Friends of the Library, Foreword Magazine, Cafe Crèma, the FIM Group, and Up North 2 TV.
