On Tuesday, December 22nd, Eastern Elementary School students will participate in a Holiday Sing-A-Long at 3:15 p.m. in the school gymnasium, 1600 Eastern Avenue. Traverse Heights Elementary School has been awarded a federally funded Fresh Fruit and Vegetable grant through the Michigan Department of Education. The grant will allow for all Traverse Heights Elementary School students to receive a free snack to be eaten in the classroom during the school day.

Traverse City West Middle School will initiate an Angel Tree Program to assist TC West Middle School families who may be experiencing a need over the holidays. Beginning December 1, 2009 an Angel Tree with ornaments will be located in the main lobby next to the school office. Each ornament will have gift information on the back (age of child, size, and type of “wish”) to help anyone wishing to make a donation with purchasing a gift for that child. Purchased gifts should be wrapped and returned with the angel ornament securely attached.

The Traverse City West Senior High School Titan Boys’ Basketball coaching staff and team players will hold two Titan Boys’ Basketball Clinics. Clinics are open to second, third, fourth, fifth, and sixth grade boys. Participants will learn the fundamentals of basketball including, passing, dribbling, and other basketball techniques.
