On March 2nd, Courtade Elementary School will host “Understanding Wildlife,” a presentation of live wildlife animals that explains how conservation and recycling will help save both the animals and the Rain Forest. “Understanding Wildlife” is a non-profit organization that travels from California to New York and will showcase some very exciting animals including flying macaws, talking amazons, and a monkey.

Traverse City Area Public Schools’ Transportation Department will hold its annual fundraiser at the 2009 Northwestern Michigan Fair, August 2nd through August 8th.

 

Volunteers are needed to work the main entry, grandstand, ticket booths, the campground gate, and to sell pit passes. By working at the fairgrounds TCAPS’ Transportation Department will earn between $5,000-$5,500. Funds raised will be used for TCAPS’ Transportation Humanitarian Fund.
