Saturday, April 14, from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM Traverse Traveler Scavenger Hunt for Autism is a family-friendly event created to raise money for the TCAPS iPads for Autism program, raise awareness about autism, and of course, have FUN! The iPads for Autism pilot program, launched in 2011, provided iPads to nine students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Asperger Syndrome. The iPads are loaded with apps specially selected for each student to improve communication and social skills and connect with the student in a way only technology can. With your help, our goal is to put one of these devices into the hands of *all* TCAPS students who can learn and benefit from them. Volunteers Needed for Andre's Place/Empowerment Through the Arts Andre's Place is an art program for children & adults age 6 - 60 living with physical, emotional and cognitive challenges. It is a non profit organization and is run strictly by qualified volunteers. It's Director is currently seeking mature persons who possess a desire to assist in class and serve this population of people in helping them self express through art. Volunteers are needed for the class which is held on Tuesdays from 1:00 - 3:00 PM and also for it's new youth program currently running on Saturday's from 10:00 - 12:00 PM. The desired applicant would posses experience working with the challenged population. An art background is beneficial but not necesarily a requirement though an appreciation of art is. Other desired qualities would be a willingness to take direction. dependability,sensitivity, patience, flexibility and a good sense of humor. Volunteers Needed for Andre's Place/Empowerment Through the Arts Andre's Place is an art program for children & adults age 6 - 60 living with physical, emotional and cognitive challenges. It is a non profit organization and is run strictly by qualified volunteers. It's Director is currently seeking mature persons who possess a desire to assist in class and serve this population of people in helping them self express through art. Volunteers are needed for the class which is held on Tuesdays from 1:00 - 3:00 PM and also for it's new youth program currently running on Saturday's from 10:00 - 12:00 PM. The desired applicant would posses experience working with the challenged population. An art background is beneficial but not necesarily a requirement though an appreciation of art is. Other desired qualities would be a willingness to take direction. dependability,sensitivity, patience, flexibility and a good sense of humor.
