Eligibility Information for Interested Candidates
TCAPS Board of Education will have three seats open in the November 2009 election. Information regarding candidate eligibility requirements and election deadlines are as follows:
Eligibility:
- Candidate must be a registered voter in the Traverse City Area Public Schools District. A candidate must be at least 18 years of age; a citizen of the United States; a resident of the State of Michigan for at least 30 days; and a resident of the school district on or before the 30th day prior to the date of the election. Property ownership is not a requirement for candidacy.
The Board of Education recommends candidates reference the “TCAPS Board Policies”, and “Bylaws” for a more in-depth understanding
of being an active board member. A link to Board Policies and Bylaws can be found on the left of this Web page.

- Write-in Candidates Must File Declaration of Intent
