How to Apply for a Position With Traverse City Area Public Schools

Step One:

Fill out the online application. It’s easy and user friendly. Just click or type where necessary. Please make sure you read the closing statement before clicking the final send button. Submit your application only once. It is valid for one year.
Step Two: Scan your cover letter, resume and letters of recommendation. The application has a link to make this easy.
If you are applying for a certified job (teacher, administrator, nurse, school social worker, etc):

 Step Three:

Include scanned copies of:

Please Note:

During our changeover period...

Due to the high volume of applications involved, we must limit our scans of your materials to those current, posted vacancies. Please attempt to scan and attach your materials yourself to assure timely review of your documents. It is really easy!

 For your protection...
TCAPS' new paperless system requires you to have an email address as your unique identifier. If you do not already have an email address, the application provides a link to set up one.

Frequently Asked Questions:

What if I already have an application on file?

The paperless system requires you to enter your application materials in the computerized system. You may pick up a copy of your original application materials at our office by calling (231) 933-1710 to request a copy and schedule a time for pickup. This copy may be used as a reference as you complete your online application. If you chose not to pick up your original application materials, they will be destroyed three years after the date of the original application.

What if I am already employed by TCAPS?

You may complete an external application form in order to provide the district with more information regarding your qualifications or you may simply complete the internal application form.

What if I see an open position?

The new paperless system requires you to actively apply. You must click on the posting button that will electronically link your completed application to the posting for review. Remember, you need to complete the application only once; you must link your application each time you apply for a position.

What if I want to make changes?

The paperless system allows you to revisit your application to update information at any time. Just put in your password! If you have forgotten your password, there is an electronic link to request a reminder. That is why your email address is important.

Did you get my information?

Did you send it? The paperless system places the power and responsibility of your application in your hands. No more worries! The automated response system assures you your application has been processed.

What if I don’t have a computer?

We suggest that perhaps you contact a friend or use the computers available at the public library. We do have a computer in our office. You may call and schedule an appointment to use it if you have no other resource available.
