November 2012 Educational Learning Trip to Spain

Click here to donate now! Over sixty-five students from Central High School and West Senior High School will take an educational, ten-day trip to Spain. Immersion into the Spanish culture will allow students to complement their world language learning as well as provide opportunities for character development, leadership skills, and global understanding. Students will visit Barcelona, Valencia, Granada, Costa del Sol, Sevilla, and Madrid. Students must raise $2800 each for the trip. Multiple fundraisers will be held prior to the trip to help defray students' costs. Donations are also accepted. Donate Now

World Language and Cultural Exchanges

Help our students and teachers establish and grow international exchange opportunities from elementary school through high school. You can also help by agreeing to host an exchange student or help our schools make an international connection.

German American Partnership Program (GAPP)
West Senior High School offers students learning German the unique opportunity of a short-term exchange at partner school the Kaspar-Zeuss Gynmasium in Kronach, Germany. This exchange is known as the German American Partnership Program or GAPP, and the Goethe Institute and US Department of State help sponsor it.

The program is designed for German and American students to exchange and experience another culture, while applying their language skills. The students from Germany will come to the US, live with our families, and attend school; we in turn will do the same. This is an incredible opportunity for students to have the chance to experience German culture and enhance language skills by living with a family, attending school, and participating in educational field trips in and around Germany.

Applications are being accepted for West Senior High School students for the summer of 2013 . If you are interested in more information regarding the program and the upcoming exchange, please contact the GAPP Coordinator Kerry LaBonte at
labonteke@tcaps.net.

GEO – Global Education Opportunities

GEO programs include online and blended classroom courses. GEO offerings help make it possible for teachers and students to take virtual field trips and extend study opportunities in conjunction with school.

International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme

The IB Primary Years Programme, for students aged 3 - 12, focuses on the development of the whole child as an inquirer, both in the classroom and in the world. The programme offers a balance between learning about or through subject areas, and learning beyond them. The programme uses six themes of global significance to allow students to "step up" beyond the confines of learning within subject areas. Your financial help will support teacher training and materials for this exciting new program.
