Early Achievers
In partnership with a caring community and quality caring staff, the TCAPS Early Childhood Programs provide our youngest learners the opportunities to create, explore, think, and reason in environments that are nurturing, respectful, engaging, and fun. Early Childhood is where a lifetime of success begins!
Did you know that TCAPS serves over 1,000 children who are enrolled in Preschool and Kindergarten Enrichment programs throughout our elementary schools? We recognize that children’s learning in the early years is essential for helping them to thrive in their educational journey from Kindergarten through graduation.
TCAPS’ Preschool programs are licensed all day programs for children ages 3-5 and are provided in a safe, nurturing environment with an emphasis on literacy and language development.

- Need a positive social climate to explore and learn how to be a part of community
- Need to be surrounded by a literacy rich environment (both in mathematics and language)
- Need a knowledgeable instructor to guide learning opportunities and development
This year, TCAPS is bringing the Creative Curriculum in all preschool classrooms, and TCAPS’ Preschool staff is participating in professional development to support the implementation of standards and practice associated with the Creative Curriculum
The Creative Curriculum for Preschool is a comprehensive, scientifically based early
childhood curriculum that has been shown to improve cognitive and social/emotional
outcomes in young children. The approach to support young learners, balances both
teacher-directed and child-initiated learning, with an emphasis on responding to
children's learning styles and building on their strengths and interests.
The Creative Curriculum incorporates an understanding of early childhood theory and research that emphasizes knowing what children think and feel and how you can help them become caring people and joyful learners.
