Beginning in the early elementary grades, TCAPS’ young readers are assessed with a system called “Running Records” which helps to track key indicators of how students are learning to read. Teachers use results to modify instruction and encourage greater success. Running Records provide an assessment of text reading. The Running Record assessment is designed so it can be recorded as a child reads orally from any text.
