2008-2010 Freshman Academy
The Freshman Academy was implemented at the start of the Smaller Learning Communities initiative and will be run during the 2008-2009 and 2009-2010 school years. The mission of the Freshman Academy is to create a student-centered community that implements a rigorous curriculum leading to the development of creative and independent thinkers.

West Senior High School Implements "Neighborhoods" for the 2010-2011 School Year
Beginning in the 2010-2011 school year, Traverse City West Senior High School will implement “Neighborhoods” as part of its Smaller Learning Communities Initiative.

SCI-MA-TECH
The SCI-MA-TECH program allows students to immerse themselves in the study of advanced math, honors level science and the related technology while participating in authentic scientific research. This program offers students a diverse learning environment, including hands-on projects, computer programming, computer aided drafting (CAD) classes, and the use of the latest technology equipment.
